Adam Welch is an artist/curator currently working in the Pittsburgh area as an independent curator/consultant and as Exhibitions Manager at The Mattress Factory Museum. Throughout the spring of 2016 he was Adjunct Associate Professor of Art at Carnegie Mellon University and also has been organizing the Concept exhibition for Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition at AHHA in Tulsa (6/3/2016-7/24/2016) that is set to travel to The Luminary in St. Louis in August. From 2008-2015 he served as curator, installer and exhibitions organizer at Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts where he had curated over 60 solo and group exhibits of regional and national artists during his tenure. Concurrently he had also overseen and organized over 30 group and solo exhibits of regional guilds, associations and international artists. Some curated group exhibitions of note: 2014 Pittsburgh Biennial, Have a Nice Day, 2011 Pittsburgh Biennial, Context Ingeminate, Cluster.

As a practicing multi-disciplinary artist he was the recipient of the 2009 Individual Artists Fellowship in Installation/Sculpture from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and was awarded the 2008 Emerging Artist of the Year award by the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Welch holds an MFA from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a BA from SUNY Stony Brook University.
