Adam Welch, is an artist and curator with extensive participation in local, national and international projects. From 2016-2020 he was the Director of Exhibitions at the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh, PA where he curated/co-curated a number of solo exhibitions and served as the artistic voice for the institution throughout his tenure. Curated exhibits of note while at the MF: ADA, Karina Smigla-Bobinski, The Interstisium, Laleh Mehran, and Screen, Christina A. West. From 2008-2015 he served as Curator at Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, overseeing 60 solo and group exhibits during his tenure. He also oversaw and organized 30+ group and solo exhibits of regional guilds, associations and international artists. Curated exhibitions of note included the 2014 Pittsburgh Biennial, Have a Nice Day, the 2011 Pittsburgh Biennial, Context Ingeminate, and Cluster. He served as Adjunct Associate Professor of Art at Carnegie Mellon University during spring 2016 and organized the Concept exhibition for the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition at AHHA in Tulsa (6/3/2016-7/24/2016) which subsequently traveled toThe Luminary in St. Louis.

As a practicing multi-disciplinary artist he was the recipient of the 2009 Individual Artists Fellowship in Installation/Sculpture from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and was awarded the 2008 Emerging Artist of the Year award by the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
